Did Orange really unlock its iPhones?

December 19, 2007

Apple iPhone from Orange France

The iPhone Atlas made a report recently concerning the unlocked iPhone from Orange.

They said it may still be locked to some French carriers, basing on words of Orange spokesperson Louis-Michel Aymard. But we wouldn’t jump into conclusions. Remember what Orange said: “Once legally (through Orange Customer Service) unlocked, the iPhone will operate with any SIM card, including foreign ones. But some applications like ‘Visual Voice Mail’ may not work abroad.”

So there you have it, the alarm is probably false. We’ll keep you up-to-date…

Jajah Brings VoIP to the Apple iPhone

December 8, 2007

Jajah, a VoIP provider, has developed a new web application that adds IP telephony to the iPhone. It has a UI similar to the one of the iPhone, though the use of the service itself isn’t that simple. Once you’ve selected a contact, the program calls that person via VoIP, a then calls you back when the other party is online. Furthermore, when making these calls you spent your own minutes. In other words, long-distance service is the best use for this app. So, if you’re interested, please visit http://www.jajah.com .

Meizu M8 MiniOne Coming Soon to the US

November 29, 2007

Remember the Meizu M8 MiniOne, the best iPhone clone from a Chinese manufacturer? Well, it will soon be available in the U.S., more precisely in February, after the CES event. The device will most likely be 3G-enabled, which I know will irritate some people :) , and will feature up to 16GB of storage. It might even become a big hit, as too many people here wait for the 3G iPhone, and Meizu in its turn offers a perfect substitute.
